Personal am DN Institut

Professor Dr. Volkmar W. M. Neubert, director of the „Institut fuer Materialpruefung und Werkstofftechnik Dr. Neubert GmbH” in Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Germany, received his Dipl.-Ing. in 1970, and 1977 his Dr.-Ing. in metallurgical engineering from the Technical University Clausthal. He began his career in 1970 as a research and development engineer in Clausthal. After 12 years at the TU Clausthal as chief engineer at the Institute of Foundry Engineering and the Institute of Welding and Production Engineering he founded in 1983 DN Institute. In 1991 he was appointed as professor at the Technical University in Clausthal. Prof. Neubert is responsible and teaching in corrosion and corrosion protection. Neubert's research is focused primarily on metallurgy, materials science, welding and foundry engineering and corrosion. He has over 150 publications and presentations in his research areas. In 1994 he served on the organising committee for the Duplex Stainless Steel Conference in Glasgow. He is member of DECHEMA, GfKORR, VDG, DVS and VDEh, and an expert witness for materials engineering, foundry and welding technology.

Volkmar-Dirk Neubert, vice director Institut für Materialpruefung und Werkstofftechnik Dr. Neubert GmbH, Clausthal-Zellerfeld, Germany, joined the institute in 2005 after his studies in electrical engineering and business administration. Just now he is leading the IT department.

Tanja Swoboda, joined the institute in 2002 is the commander of the global office, and your first contact with the institute.

Dipl.-Ing. Joern Reuter, senior engineer for the DN Institute, graduated from Technical University of Clausthal in 2002 with a Dipl.-Ing. degree in mechanical engineering. In 2002 he accepted his present position as senior engineer at DN Institute and is responsible for the labs for corrosion, wear and materials testing.

Dr. M.Sc. Ashraf T.M.A. Bakkar, post doc, awarded the degree of his M.Sc. degree in Metallurgical Engineering at Suez Canal University in 1997, and in 2005 his Dr.-Ing. in metallurgical engineering from the Technical University Clausthal. He is working on the corrosion behaviour of Al- and Mg- MMCs, and galvanic coating of metals by ionic liquids.

Dr. Rolf Reiter, senior advisor of the wear and erosion department graduated from Technical University of Clausthal in 1983 with a Dipl.-Ing. degree in mechanical engineering. After having worked as a research engineer at the Institute of Welding and Production Engineering he got the doctoral degree in 1990. Reiter's research is focused primarily on wear, erosion, welding and cutting. He has over 20 publications and presentations in his research areas. In 1997 he joined DN Institute as a senior advisor of the wear and erosion department and as a senior engineer for mechanical engineering and failure analyses. He is member of DVS and VDI.

Dipl. –Ing. Joern Fiedler, senior engineer for the DN-Institute, graduated from University of Magdeburg in 1997 with a Dipl.-Ing. degree in materials Science. Since 2002 he is responsible for the labs for materials science, foundry, and extrusion.

Marcel Jeschke, senior materials tester joined DN institute in 2000 after several years at the Technical University of Clausthal. He is responsible for testing of physical properties, corrosion, erosion and wear, too.

Michael Klein, junior materials tester joined DN institute in 2007 after several years at the Technical University of Clausthal.

Besides this the institute is giving work to several under and post graduate students from universities and research institutes worldwide.
